Infant Program

Here at Roma Court Academy we are excited to be able to offer a special room designed for your baby. We know it's hard for you new parents to leave your infant in the care of someone else. At Roma Court Academy, we'll do everything possible to put your mind at ease.
Our teachers spend quality time interacting with the infants all day long - introducing new items and experiences as children are ready for them. It all takes place in a comfortable, home like childcare environment, with materials and equipment for active play.
Health and safety are priority, especially in the infant room. Teachers follow strict policies and procedures to ensure a clean, healthy room and to prevent spread of illness.
Our staff are keen observers, responsible for choosing developmentally appropriate activities specifically geared toward gently challenging each infant while avoiding frustration. Infant activities include singing, stimulating interaction, book exploration, gross motor enhancements such as "tummy time" and natural physical experiences in both the indoor and outdoor environments.
The daily schedule reflects the unique needs of each individual infant and is modified as the infant grows and progresses.

We also make sure parents stay informed and involved, with daily reports and newsletters.

Toddler Program (12-24 months)

As we all know, toddlers are a bundle of energy. At Roma Court Academy, our teachers harness that energy and develop weekly lesson plans that encourage participation and fun. Our teachers get to know each child, learn their strengths and needs and provide age appropriate, engaging activities, such as painting, water and sand play, book exploration, manipulative play, small group experiences and large group circle times. All of these experiences pave the way for toddlers in their path toward life long learning.
Toddlers strive in the environment where they know what will come next.
Our curriculum frame-work supports the use of a pictorial daily schedule, which enables toddlers to visually understand their day in predictable patterns. Our classroom offers a warm, homelike environment where toddlers can practice their emerging skills in all developmental areas.

Our toddler room includes:
• Open areas for gross motor development
• Cozy reflection area
• Books, blocks, puzzles, action and reaction toys, and props

Teachers become even more familiar with each child's abilities and interests, and use that knowledge to develop what they have learned into the curriculum framework. Small and large group experiences are all provided through developmentally appropriate activities that are designed to keep children interested and engaged.
The Early Preschool daily routine is supported by our curriculum. A pictorial schedule is intentionally placed at the Early Preschool child's eye level to aid in understanding daily routine in predictable patterns. The schedule provides an active balance of teacher and child directed-activities.
